NVIDIA announces accelerator-based architecture GPU “Next-Gen”

Currently, NVIDIA still relies on Pascal architecture for their GPUs, including for the GTX 10 Series. However, since a few years ago, they have announced the successor architecture of Pascal, called Volta. Some time ago, NVIDIA finally announced their new product based on Volta architecture, again not a GPU for desktop, but Tesla accelerator.

Use 12 nm & HBM2 Fabrication

The latest member of the Tesla family, with the Volta architecture, introduced by NVIDIA is the Tesla V100. In accordance with the code, this accelerator will continue the task of Tesla P100. The so-called Tesla V100 will offer a single-precision compute process capability of up to 15 TFLOPS, an increase of 10.6 TFLOPS offered by Tesla P100.

NVIDIA mentions that the Tesla V100 is manufactured with 12 nm FinFET fabrication from TSMC. Tesla V100 is equipped with 16 GB HBM2 which offers bandwidth of 900 GB / s. This accelerator carries 5120 CUDA Core and runs at a speed of 1455 MHz.

Rely on NVLink

NVLink is still relied on NVIDIA to support communication between Tesla V100 modules and systems. However, unlike NVLink on Tesla P100 that “only” offers bandwidth of 160 GB / s, NVLink on Tesla V100 can offer up to 300 GB / s bandwidth. This is, of course, important to support the acceleration process in the data center, which is the main target of Tesla V100 users, especially in the field of machine learning and deep learning.

EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 with iCX Technology

The use of ICX technology or better known as Interactive Cooling Xtreme which is not more than just ordinary cooling and no doubt its existence, it makes EVGA addicted to re-adopt the greatness of the technology on the existence of the newest graphics card product model.

The graphics card that has just been introduced by EVGA is a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming Hybrid graphics card based on iCX Technology support. Built with EVGA’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 graphics card, the “hybrid” version of its iCX cooling solution combines an all-in-one liquid cooling for the GPU with a low-noise blower fan that provides air cooling to VRM.

As well as air-cooled, this graphics card has nine heat sensors and an MCU installed on the PCB. Base clock rate for GPU Pascal GP102 is 1.556 MHz on core with 1.670MHz boost frequency and 11.016MHz clock memory. This capability is reportedly the same as what the Gaming graphics card overclocks GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 belongs to the current EVGA.

While this is not a full cover block, EVGA has reportedly incorporated a dedicated memory disk capable of transferring heat directly from memory to the water block for better use. This uniquely designed copper disk is attached to the bottom of the water block and the fan for a closer and direct impact on the GDDR5X memory module.

The addition of liquid cooling to the processor and GPU memory should normally allow for higher overclocking space. Built-in 120mm radiator / large fan can be adjusted by adding or swapping the fan.

New Gigabyte RX 550 Graphic Cards For Limited Budget

Gigabyte in heating up the competition of the current graphics card market, the article of its flagship RX 500 Series GPU recently has the arrival of a pair of overclocked graphics card model of its new factory at the same time that is Radeon RX 550 D5 2G and Radeon RX 550 Gaming OC 2G.

Although both graphics card is intended for gamers with a limited budget, Gigabyte does not seem to want to improve in equip cooling features. It includes advanced cooling features that include a Windforce Gigabyte cooling version with a patented Blade Fan design and also 3D active fan functionality, said to be ready to optimize temperature control on a pair of graphics cards.
Gigabyte claimed an increase in airflow 23% of the traditional fan caused by 3D line curve on the fan surface. The semi-passive feature, coupled with the 3D active fan function, allows the fan to stay on at lower temperatures and rotates only when the GPU is under heavy load. Both cards feature Gigabyte Ultra Durable construction, which includes solid capacitors and metal chokes.

Like most Radeon 500 series graphics cards in general, this Gigabyte Radeon-based graphics card also supports bridgeless CrossFire, FreeSync, and Eyefinity. Not only that, Gigabyte also incorporates Aorus Graphics Engine software utility with both cards, giving end users one-click overclocking as well as the ability to control clock speed, voltage, power targets, and fan profiles.

Now marketed through the online store Amazon, Gigabyte Radeon RX 550 D5 2G and Radeon RX 550 Gaming OC 2G is priced each per unit for 80 USD and 90 USD.

Nvidia presents ‘the world’s strongest graphics card’ Titan Xp

The graphic specialist Nvidia has presented the Titan Xp its most powerful graphics card for PC systems. The launch took place without a big announcement, so that well-heeled game fans can hit directly and hold the new GPU within a few days in the hands.

The Nvidia GeForce Titan Xp is an updated version of Titan X, introduced last year, which was falsely also partly called Titan XP. The “real” GeForce Titanium Xp is based on the same Nvidia “Pascal” architecture and can now be purchased directly from the manufacturer’s online shop in many country.

The Nvidia Titan Xp with its unrivaled graphics performance costs about $1400 and is to be available immediately. It is based on a Nvidia Pascal GP102 GPU in its highest configuration, so that all 3840 CUDA cores can be used. For comparison: with the Titan X and the recently introduced Nvdia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, “only” 3584 CUDA cores are available.

If you wanted to get a graphics card with GP102-GPU, you had to invest a few thousand euros in the purchase of an Nvidia Quadro P6000, which is actually intended for professional workstations and servers. With the Titan Xp the clock rate of the graphics memory increases slightly and is now at 11.4 gigahertz, while the graphics chip itself also runs somewhat faster and reaches 1582 Megahertz. Last year’s Titan X was still 1531 MHz.

The size of the GDDR5X memory installed here remains the same as 12 gigabytes, which is also true for the bandwidth of the 384-bit memory connection. Due to the increased clock rate of the graphics memory, however, the graphics throughput increases significantly and now reaches 547.7 gigabytes per second. Nvidia gives the total performance of the GeForce Titan Xp with 12 TeraFLOP.

Zotac GTX 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme Clock

At poker, the clock rates in custom designs of the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Zotac could emerge as a winner.

With every new GeForce card, a small show has been repeated in recent generations. Gambling at the highest clock rates. Who can offer the GeForce card with the highest clock rates and one can keep this “promise” then also in practice at the end.

Zotac has always been good at the clock pokers and always put into the top group. The Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme! Was one of the fastest and best-cooled GTX 1080 models and of course, Zotac also wants the new GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP! Extreme this reputation.

Will i5 6600k 4.6 or lower ghz bottleneck Gtx 960 4gb?

If you asked Will i5 6600k 4.6 or lower ghz bottleneck Gtx 960 4gb? really confusing. Looked up online and the majority of the people said you will, but is it true since you think that’s a decent combo?

It all depends bro…different games use hardware resources differenly….gta v for example requires more CPU power than GPU power…..you will probably get a few bottlenecks in certain games at higher settings..thats just how PC gaming is…a good idea would be to save up for an rx 480…it will go a longer way.

If on a tight budget since you still need to get the motherboard and everything, you should definitely be okay.

And for the answer is : No, it will be fine.

These Six New Nvidia Quadro Also Use GP100 and HBM2

Nvidia has introduced six new professional Quadro graphics cards. The top model uses the large GP100 GPU and HBM2. Up to now the series was largely based on Maxwell. Only the Quadro P6000 with the fully activated GP102 and 24GB GDDR5X and Quadro P5000 with GP104 and 16GB GDDR5X took Pascal.

First GP100 off Tesla

The Quadro GP100 uses the most complex Pascal GPU that only for the high-performance computing market in the form of far Tesla P100 has been available. Again, the Quadro GP100 does not use the full range. Instead of the 3,840 shader units, for example, with the fully GP102 on the Quadro P6000, on the Quadro GP100 only 3.584.

Quadro GP100 and P6000 each have their own special areas

The GP100 calculates FP32 data with full performance and masters Double Precision (FP64) with half the performance. This makes it significantly faster than the GP102 on the Quadro P6000. In addition, FP16 calculations can be performed at twice the speed, which the Quadro P6000 also does not master. For this the GP100 can not accelerate INT8 calculations – the quadro P6000 with the quadruple speed but already. Depending on the application area, either a Quadro GP100 or a Quadro P6000 is required.

In addition, the Quadro GP100, like the Tesla counterpart, uses 16 gigabytes of Samsung’s storage technology HBM2. There are also four HBM2 stacks, each with four gigabytes. The storage bandwidth is 720 gigabytes per second, since Nvidia does not use the full 1,000 MHz of HBM2. The TDP gives Nvidia with 235 watts, 15 watts less than with the Quadro P6000. For the Quadro GP100, Nvidia also offers an NVLink bridge for communication with each other if two should be used instead of a Quadro GP100.

The other new Quadro models use GP104, GP106 and GP107

The remaining five new Quadro products round off the professional line-up. The Quadro P4000, like the Quadro P5000, uses the GP104 GPU, but deactivates some units so that 1,792 shader units remain. The memory expansion is also halved to eight gigabytes and instead of GDDR5X- there are classic GDDR5 memory. The TDP is 105 watts, 75 watts less than the Quadro P6000. With a lower power loss, a single-slot cooling system is sufficient.

Quadro P2000 with 160-bit memory interface

The remaining four Quadro cards are significantly less powerful. The Quadro P2000 is based on the GP106 GPU with 1,024 shader units and five gigabytes of GDDR5 memory. The GPU actually has a 192 bit interface, of which on the P2000 a controller is switched off – 160 bits remain. This also explains the unusual storage expansion. The Quadro P1000 uses a shorted GP107 with 640 shader units and offers four gigabytes of memory with a TDP of only 47 watts. With the Quadro P600 only 384 ALUs remain with two gigabytes and 40 watts, with the smallest Quadro P400 it is only 256 ALUs with two Gigabytes and 30 Watts. All new models will be available in March.
