5 Benefits of Using 144 Hz Gaming Monitor

Performance of graphics cards that are present in the market increasing every year. The enhanced performance it presents makes the latest generation of graphics cards can easily run games at high frame rate without sacrificing visual quality so as to provide maximum gaming experience.

Trying to support an enhanced gaming experience that is more convenient for gamers, supported by the above, many of the manufacturers of display devices present gaming monitors with a high refresh rate to the market. However, not only monitors with high refresh rates are emerging, high resolution monitors also appear, such as those that carry 4K resolution. This makes gamers sometimes confused, should choose high refresh rate or high resolution.

This dilemma can actually be solved easily. Both types of monitors that it will offer its own advantages, but one of them will be more suitable for gamers, especially for those who like to play a competitive multiplayer game, which comes with a high refresh rate. High-refresh rate monitors, such as 144 Hz, will offer a better viewing movement when compared to standard monitors, which offer only a 60 Hz refresh rate. Improved experience gained should not be mere cosmetics, such as offered high-resolution monitors, but will affect the performance of gaming users.

Here we describe 5 reasons why gaming monitors with high refresh rates will offer a better experience for gamers!

Super Smooth Movement

High refresh rate monitors allow you to get smoother moves , not just in games, but also on desktop displays. The movements referred to here include the animated transitions displayed by the monitor. This means the user will get a movement that looks more alive and of course makes increased comfort.

Reduced Tearing and Stuttering Effects

Design: Monitor LG 34UM69G-B

LG 34UM69G-B comes with a 34 inch wide screen display with a resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels. Unlike conventional monitors that usually come with  16: 9 aspect ratio , this latest LG monitor comes with a 21: 9 aspect ratio display screen that makes it look very wide. Coming from the line of LG Gaming monitors, the design of the monitor with the typical lines of the gaming monitor still decorate the successor. The thin bazzle of this monitor is hidden behind the surface of the screen which is coated with a 3H anti-glare coating, thus making the monitor look like a bazzelless. The presence of 3H anti-glare coating also makes this screen capable of reducing the reflection of light or shadow on the screen that makes you more comfortable using this monitor.

We think this design does not look bad. We only complain about the glossy material on the back of the monitor which makes it a very convenient place for fingerprint trails. Turning to the foot of this monitor, LG pinned foot shaped legs “V” that LG named as V-Line Stand. The foot of this buffer does look small but can keep this 34-inch monitor well. Interestingly, these legs have a height adjustment that makes this monitor can be set up at a height of flexibility. This monitor also has a tilt feature that lets you start 5 to 20 degrees.

Coming from the line of LG Gaming monitors, the LG 34UM69G-B is a monitor that relies on LED backlight with an IPS panel type (in-plane switching) that has the ability to produce color variations of up to 16.7 million colors at 2560 x 1080 pixels. With the combination of IPS panel, 2560 x 1080 pixel resolution and 21: 9 aspect ratio, the LG 34UM69G-B provides a wider viewing angle either in operating system environments or while playing games and is capable of displaying details that can not be displayed if using non-monitors -21: 9.

Specifically, the LG 34UM69G-B has a 5-milisecond response time for Gray-to-Gray. However, thanks to the presence of Motion Blur Reduction feature, this time monitor response can up to 1 millisecond so as to produce a free display quality of the symptoms of ghosting. This high level of response time is ideal for handling fast scenes in a video or game. The use of IPS panel also makes LG claims that this monitor has a color level of up to 99% sRGB gamut so it is suitable for users who need LCD monitors with high color accuracy. The most interesting thing of this monitor is, Although it comes with IPS panel, this monitor has a refresh rate at 75 Hz. It’s not the highest, but you’ll very rarely find a IPS paneled monitor with refresh rate on this number.

Unlike most LCD monitor products with a 60 Hz refresh rate, the LG 34UM69G-B  offers privileges on refresh rate options ranging from 60 Hz, up to 75 Hz for the highest selection. PC owners with the ability to produce frame rates above 60 fps would be liked when paired with LG 34UM69G-B. You will not find symptoms of image tearing due to the refresh rate of  LCD monitors lower than the game frame rate. Even when the V-Sync feature is turned on, the game can still “run” at the frame rate level up to 75 fps when the 75 Hz mode is used, Unlike when using a 60 Hz LCD monitor where the game frame rate is locked at 60 fps when the V-Sync feature is activated. As a result maximum visual quality obtained without the need to sacrifice the comfort of playing.

One of the other features of the LG 34UM69G-B  is the presence of AMD’s popular refresh rate technology, FreeSync. The technology allows the monitor’s refresh rate to adjust to the frame rate of the resulting graphics card, not vice versa as in the V-Sync technology. In addition to embedding Adaptive Sync features AMD, this monitor also brings other gaming features such as “Response Time” to adjust the monitor’s response time based on screen speed in displaying images. This feature is perfect for use when the monitor displays fast scenes such as while playing a game or watching action movies. There is also a Black Stabilizer feature to adjust the level of black contrast monitor so as to produce a clearer view on the dark scene / less light. Not only that, LG also pinned the 1ms Motion Blur Reduction feature which will reduce the ghosting image  (blur) during image transition.

In addition to utilizing this 21: 9 monitor on PC games, you can also use it as a screen for your console. There are still not many games that support the 21: 9 aspect ratio, but you can take advantage of the aspect ratio of “Cinema” that LG has injected inside the monitor with this elegant form, some Playstation 4 games that contain black bars on the top and bottom Can be enjoyed to the maximum with it. Even the feature will be very useful also for you while watching a movie that has a black bar at the top and bottom.

To unpack and pair this monitor is quite easy, you just need to press down the button that we circled above and pull the bottom of the monitor to release the foot of the monitor.

As you release the foot of the monitor, you will be mounting a 10 × 10 cm VESA mounting available behind this monitor. Mounting is useful when you want to pair this monitor to a wall or to a more flexible third-party buffer foot.

To operate the LG 34UM69G-B, LG relies on a five-way joystick button on the lower side of the screen. The use of the joystick button is indeed an advantage of this monitor. The operation of the menu becomes so easy and so enjoyable, even without the need to see the button itself. No more hassle of menu operation due to groping the row of buttons on the monitor’s hidden side. Users simply direct the five-way joystick button to move the cursor on the menu and pressed to confirm. The LG 34UM69G-B joystick button is made of the semi-transparent white material with white light when LCD monitor is on.

LG 34UM69G-B presents a variety of connectivity such as port DC-IN, audio,   port HDMI, one port  Display Port 1.2, one port USB 3.0 Type-C.  Apparently, the presence of Type-C USB connector on this monitor not only as a monitor input but also as a port for charging 5V 1.5A power gadget. This monitor also has a 3.5mm audio jack, but you will not find the speakers on this monitor. The HDMI connector and Display Port 1.2 ensure the LCD monitor is ready to display Full-HD resolution with a   75 Hz refresh rate while utilizing AMD FreeSync technology.

LG also includes a plastic clip to help you hide the cables connected to this monitor behind the buffer legs. Slightly different from the plastic clip for the LG monitor’s previous management cable, its shark-like shape lets you hang your favorite headphones after you use them. The design of this plastic clip also looks sturdy, and it seems to be able to withstand many wires and heavy headphones at once.

As a monitor intended for the use of games and multimedia, incomplete if it feels if LG does not embed the speakers on this monitor. Yes, this monitor is equipped with two speakers (stereo) placed on the bottom of the monitor, precisely located on the left and right side of this monitor navigation joystick. Although it looks small and less convincing, we are quite impressed by what sound it produces. Enough powerful, clear but your ear will not be disturbed by the sound because the sound produced is not too sharp. Perhaps this is because there is support MaxxAudio by Waves feature on this monitor so that the sound produced can be nice to our ears.

Use LG 34UM69G-B

As a new monitor, of course, LG offers features that make it easy for its users. One of them comes through the operation menu of this monitor. In addition to having used the 5-way joystick as a navigation tool, LG also pinned menu operation that interface is very easy for its users. Not only comes with full menu settings, you will also get a Quick Menu will allow you to make settings without having to go too deep in the settings menu (OSD).

Quick Menu

In this Quick Menu, you can do volume settings, video input and even you can choose the Gaming mode that has been provided by LG.

LG also provides a Quick Setting menu that enables you to adjust settings for lighting, color contrast, volume, and enable the MaxxAudio feature.

Going into the deeper settings menu, you can find the input settings where you can select the input you will use, even you can also set the Aspect Ratio you want to use.

The Picture> Picture Mode menu presents settings that are able to use scenarios such as Reader, Photo, Cinema, Dark Room, Color Weakness, Game FPS, Game RTS, and Custom.

LG also provides lighting screen settings, contrast, and sharpness of the image on the screen by accessing Picture Adjust menu. You can even enable Super Resolution +, Black level, and DFC features.

Setting options on the Picture> Game Adjust menu You can find various settings to enhance your gameplay experience such as setting Response Time, activating AMD FreeSycn, Black Stabilizer up to 1ms Motion Blur Reduction which will reduce the effect of Ghosting on the screen

LG also provides a Six Color setting that allows you to set the color in detail.

For Sound Settings, in addition, you can make volume settings, you can also make settings MaxxAudio and enable midnight mode.

LG also provides a general setting menu where you can make settings ranging from the language to activate the Smart Energy Saving feature on this monitor.

Talking about the Smart Energy Saving feature also pinned on LG on this monitor, the following power consumption test carried out using a power meter that is connected to the monitor power cable. Power testing is done in Standard and Eco mode on the Picture Mode menu.

Picture Mode – Power Saving Off: 43 Watt
Picture Mode – Power Saving Low: 41 Watt
Picture Mode – Power Saving High: 39 Watt

When the Smart Energy Saving feature is enabled the use of electricity monitors the difference between levels of approximately 2 watts. It does not seem so meaningful, but considering this is a monitor that only requires a maximum of 43 watts of power, the decline offered should be appreciated.

Designed specifically for gaming, it is not strange that the LG 34UM69G-B comes with more rarer capabilities found in LCD monitor products generally. In addition to the above-average specifications ( 75 Hz refresh rate, 5 ms response time ), LG also buried a stack of other supporting features such as AMD Freesync, Motion Blur Reduction, Picture Mode with 9 preset options, and much more. Not only that, as an LCD monitor with IPS panel type (In-Plane Switching), the LG 34UM69G-B is capable of excellent color reproduction and certainly has a viewing angle that is above the average monitor panel TN or VA commonly used gaming monitor Others. Even claims of a gamut color level of up to 99% sRGB do not seem to be a figment. You will get a monitor that out of the box already has a good production.

The offer of a refresh rate of 75 Hz on this monitor will also provide a better gameplay experience, where your input response will also increase. You will also get a smoother movement even as you see mouse movements in your desktop window. The 21: 9 aspect ratio provides its own advantages. When playing games that support this Aspect Ratio, you can get a wider view. Even you console users can also use this monitor to play games that have a black bar on the bottom of the bottom.

Looking for a new monitor to help you play home games? Maybe there’s nothing wrong with the latest LG monitor, LG 34UM69G-B this. In addition to the color reproduction performance that captures the abundant feature offer will greatly pamper you, from its unusual Aspect Ratio 21: 9 capable of providing a better usage experience, gaming support features like AMD Freesync, Refresh Rate 75 Hz up to MaxxAudio feature Which will spoil your ears while playing the game you can get from this monitor. It is officially this monitor is not yet available in the Indonesian market, but to have it you may have to spend your money deep enough to be able to see this monitor alongside with your favorite PC game on the official website of LG America this monitor priced at US $ 399.

Changhong UHD42C5600ISX2 Expandable smart TV with good display

Think of TV, then usually first times s.Samsung, Panasonic, LG or Sony. Changhong is not so well-known, although the company has existed since the end of the 50’s. In China you are even market leader in the field of television. The TVs are at first sight incredibly cheap, but how good can such a device then be at all? With the Changhong UHD42C5600ISX2 the first time a test device from the manufacturer arrived with us.

My test model, as the name suggests, has over 4K UHD resolution and measures 42″ in the diagonal. It is also a smart TV, so it has various smart features like a browser and various apps. But more about that later.

Scope of delivery and assembly

So far in advance: The assembly should be in any case in pairs. There is not much to be seen in the scope of delivery: in addition to the TV itself and the stand, the remote control including batteries is included. Then there is finally synonymous SCART adapter, which is a bit odd on its own – a SCART to HDMI adapter I have at least never seen. Look at the TV, but you realize that the connection looks like HDMI and also with HDMI is labeled, but it still has its own, very probably analog input on the TV. A little piece of paper is still there, that was it already.

The assembly is quite simple, but you should still get help. First, the stand must be mounted, then the TV can be placed on the stand and fixed with four screws. Altogether quite simple and self-explanatory.

Here I was quite surprised, especially by the low price. Metal housing on the back, the front of plastic bordered. Everything is neatly processed and he stands safely on his first small-sized stand – the TV is neither rotatable nor tiltable. Slit dimensions are uniform and even after prolonged search I have found nothing, for which the processing point deductions deserved. Ok, maybe the remote, but the gets their own paragraph.

It is a different matter. The plastic on the front with its trim strip made of chrome-colored plastic looks a little cheap, which is underlined by the high-gloss surface. Also, the design itself is not necessarily what I would call beautiful. The purpose is not to fit properly, but the high-gloss optic with a decorative strip is too much. But that is all as always taste.

Equipment, smart TV & software

The list of features is long. Connections are available, so there are three USB ports, one according to USB 3.1 standard. In addition, there are 3 HDMI connections, MHL support, WLAN, LAN, SCART, TOSLINK or S / P-DIF, a triple tuner with DVB-C, S and T / 2 support and a CI slot.

On the software side, a proprietary system is used, which supports the installation of apps and a media player for USB media. The software is clear, but has a bit old stature. Since it is a propietary system, apps have to be specially adapted for it. Many big names are missing, such as Netflix or Twitch. What is supported, however, is HbbTV and thus the mediatheques and “interactive” contents of the different channels.

Available apps include “Viewster”, CloudioTV, Sailflix, The Sailing Channel, or the Lingerie Football League. Probably you knew of it just as I did not have a single app. After all, I discovered a few well-known names. For example, a Deezer app is available and various media councils of the public-law broadcasters are available. Oh, and not to forget: Even a TV-Total app is available for all those who still steal behind Stefan Raab.

Here and there are some funny moments, because the translation into German is not always successful. For example, the browser does not ask if you really want to close the browser but close it. Oh well.

Speaking of apps close. There is then also one or the other problem with the continuity. In many places, the menu is somewhat confused, so you can go back to the overview by clicking the “back” button, just by “Exit” and times only via the “Apps” button. In the App Store you can only return to the overview via the on-screen menu. At first, I thought that the remote did not respond – but it is finally the software, which can not start with the wrong input and which accordingly simply nothing at all. Who needs error messages?

The integrated Mediaplayer plays all common formats directly via USB. Also in H.265 Coded videos in 4K resolution at 30FPS are not a problem, with FullHD contents are even 60FPS possible. Annoying, however, that in the playback of photos either always (too fast) slideshow runs, or as soon as one pausiert always a thick half-transparent menu band at the upper end of the display is to be seen. Viewing photos is therefore very little fun.

The EPG – Electronic Program Guide – works without problems. Even the program for stations, which could not be retrieved for lack of FreenetTV subscription was displayed error-free.

Overall, the Smart TV experience is rather sobering and often just confusing.

In addition to the Smart TV menu, there is still the normal setup menu. Here are all important settings listed clearly, only here and there jerks it times when selecting a menu point. Otherwise one finds one right immediately.

Something strange then only with the network kettings – because no matter whether cable or WLAN, usually stands there, one is not connected. The download of apps etc. works however perfectly. The option to search directly online for a software update does not work. Either because the system thinks it is offline, or the function is not yet fully implemented. Manually found a suitable update is also difficult, because the support pages of Changhong are still very incomplete in this respect.

The channel sorting is relatively simple. Mark the channel, move it to the desired location, and save it. However, if you want to edit the entire channel list in this way it can take quite a while.

In the case of the switching times, air is also upwards when the internal DVB-T2 tuner is used. Although the programminfo is displayed immediately, until a picture appears to pass but well 3 seconds. Whether it is better with DVB-C or S / 2 I can not judge due to lack of satellite or cable reception.

There are still some more features and options in the software, but here would list all, I think, beyond the framework. In conclusion, one can say to the software by and large only: That was nothing.

Smartphone App

Via the iSmartTV baptized app one should actually be able to control various functions of the TV from the smartphone. At the beginning of the set-up, a QR-Code will appear, which will allow you to download the app, which is also supposed to connect the TV to the app. The former works perfectly, even if the app does not come in the case of the Google Play Store. So here you should be careful. The second does not work at all. I could not connect the app to the TV during the entire test period. It was no matter whether the TV is connected by LAN or WLAN, it can not be found simply by the app.

remote Control

Also, a remote control is of course, which is at this point their own paragraph get. On the whole, it is exactly that: a remote control made of plastic, the keys made of rubber or soft plastic. The layout is ok, even if it is unusual that important keys are arranged at the very bottom – here are usually the keys, which one is never used anyway.

The response of the keys is partly questionable. Partially, the keys do not react at all, then inputs are executed twice and again others show no reaction at all. In what angle the remote control must be directed at the television is pure gambling. Whether the remote control or the TV itself is, is difficult to judge.

However, the use of a universal remote control or the Huawei Mate 9 as a remote control has been improved – thanks to the infrared blaster it can also be used without the iSmartTV app. The double inputs disappear and if you get the correct angle, all inputs are recognized.

picture quality

Ok, enough of the software, we finally look at the panel. Here, the Changhong can finally score points. The viewing angles are pleasantly large; at large angles of about 130 °, a slight darkening of the image is observed. Not really disturbing, but visible. Colors also appear in the basic setting already alive, the contrast is good and black also looks like black. This allows the blacks to be separated well in very dark scenes. After some fine adjustment, the colors are also natural and balanced, but in the default the colors are still somewhat saturated.

However, movements are quite unnatural in the presettings, and people in particular act artificially. This is due to the “image enhancements” applied on the softwareside to make the image appear more liquid. If you disable these features, and you screw the EMR baptized artificial refresh rate to the lowest level, it will be much more comfortable and the panel will look much more natural and the content more plastic.

Clouding and Light-Bleeding are only minimal, the illumination is uniform and only with a complete black image is light clouding in the lower left corner to the middle towards, at the edges there is minimal light bleeding. Both of these are only minimal or not visible at all.

The high resolution makes the picture extremely sharp, especially with native 4K content. Even a small seat spacing is no problem. Upscaling of FullHD content also works without problems. Artifacts or the like do not exist, the content continues to be very sharp. Only at 720P and below, the low resolution is noticeable, as synonymous helps no upscaler.

The installed loudspeakers are in short ok. A virtual surround mode is on board, otherwise they offer hardly any special features. No sound jumps are made soundly, but the sound is clear and language is well understood. A little shallow and tinny, however, the action lacks the bass.

If you turn on the surround mode, it will not really get better – rather on the contrary. The location in the room is hardly available, overall the sound is messy, noise interferes with and voices are not as clear as in normal stereo operation.

For simple film enjoyment, the loudspeakers in any case are sufficient, but for action-packed movie shows it could be too little. Demanding listeners should rather resort to an external solution.

Overall the test sounds quite negative – but it is not really so bad. For the called price, the Changhong offers very good picture quality and processing, also the sound is okay. The TV function itself has only small weaknesses, one over the face of the price-performance ratio can easily overlook. The reception is good and also the CI + shaft for the decoding of Pay TV contents is available.

But what does not work is the aspect of smart TV. Smart, the Changhong is unfortunately not really, up to the rudimentary mediaplayer for USB media he can not offer much. The available apps are rather of inferior quality and big names such as Netflix are missing completely. After all, YouTube is on board.

The Changhong UHD42C5600ISX2 offers unbeatable value for money, which can dispense with Smart TV features and above all a good, high-resolution display. Everyone, who is smart TV in the TV is important, however, should look elsewhere.

Bodi I2481FXH classified as very mild, even I could carry it with one hand. Not only that, this monitor also very quick and has a thickness of only 7,5mm screen. The design allows it to be placed in the room is minimalist, such as apartment or office desk.

I2481FXH AOC also has a unique buffer. Simple shape, such as iron rods bent specifically for supporting the main body. Unfortunately, I2481FXH buffer can not be removed. Thus, this monitor can not be affixed to the wall and only designed to be used on a table.

Other shortcomings contained in this monitor is the absence of DisplayPort. He only comes with two HDMI and one D-Sub. There is also a 3.5mm audio port if you want to use the audio facilities are brought through HDMI output. However, all of its relatively irrelevant because its targets are middle-class general users who are most likely still rely on HDMI and D-Sub.

One advantage of the most I like from this monitor is a color reproduction as very good for a middle-class monitor. These monitors have been equipped with sRGB mode so that is qualified to the standard design activities. Unfortunately, on the official website AOC does not provide the level of accuracy of sRGB color displayed by the monitor.

Because it uses an IPS panel, AOC I2481FXH which has a resolution of Full HD also has a viewing angle (viewing angle) wide. He even still be seen clearly from the angle of 178 degrees.

For an all-round monitor is priced at $ 180 million, AOC I2481FXH noteworthy. In addition to having a body that is extremely compact and lightweight, it also has a very good color reproduction on the monitor in its class, even been equipped with sRGB mode. If you want to have a variant with a larger screen, AOC also provides a 27-inch size is priced at $ 300.

Tips to Prevent Negative Effects of Computer Monitor Light

In this digital era, it seems impossible if we do not come into contact with the activity of a computer. Especially for the workers.

Computers indeed provide convenience, while on the other hand gave an adverse effect on the health of the eye. Experts say, staring at the computer for hours can cause strain on the eyes and head.
It was known as computer vision syndrome.

This condition occurs due to prolonged use of digital devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones. According to the American Optometric Association, computer vision syndrome can be severe, especially if the lack of lighting in offices, screen gadget emits a blinding light, and the wrong posture.

This syndrome can also cause dry eye. Because, you blink 66 percent less when looking at the screen so make your eyes become dry.

If this happens, you need to use glasses or contact lenses?

Not necessarily. Because according to Melanie A. Schmitt, assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin, there is an increase in cases of myopia due to exposure to the gadget. However, scientists have not been able to verify whether the display is specifically causing damage.

When your eyes are involved in a close distance vision such as reading an article on the website or check Instagram, small muscles working to put things in focus by changing the shape of the lens. Too many eyes work in close quarters can cause eye strain.

It can make you feel the eyes in a state of tense and tired. However, to say this is a pure effect of staring at the screen remains unclear, according to Schmitt.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the long term effects of digital devices to the health of the eyes are still developing. Obviously, looking at the screen too long can cause eye strain and cause discomfort, but it has a serious long-term consequences as well.

A recent study by researchers in Madrid found that the LED lights used in the display contributes to retinal damage in the eyes of mice. However, more research is needed to determine whether the same effect could occur in humans.

If you are working with a continuously staring at a computer screen for hours, try to take time to rest for 20 seconds. Do it every 20 minutes.

You can also create light settings on the computer, choose which does not dazzle the eyes and use eye drops to increase humidity. Lastly, make sure you sit staring at a computer with an upright posture.

HDCP: Copy Protection Scheme Used with HDMI and Other Connections

Ask: I’m hoping some-one might be able to help me out with a little problem i’m having with my GPU .
At the moment i’m using a GT610 and tried up change it with a ASUS DCII/2DI4S/2GD5 when i connected it up to my 32″ Smart TV via HDMI using a Displayport to HDMI adaptor no picture on screen
So i replaced the GT610 and tried using the HDMI cable still no picture. It works fine via the VGA cable .
So does any-one know why its not displaying using the HDMI
Its a new TV
Thanx guys

Clue: The GT 610 card works with the tv using a VGA cable but not with a HDMI.

Answer: Your new TV is probably HDCP 2.2 whereas the graphics card is probably an older version. So they may not be “hand shaking” as they should

watch the video below:

An old philips flat screen and the HDMI worked fine. The guy was lucky he has a spare 32″ in the bedroom.
